Once your website has been online for a little while, it will start to get crawled by Google. This means the search engine will attempt to find all of the pages on your site so that it can include them in its index. The frequency of Google crawling your site depends on several factors (i.e. how often you update your pages, how popular your site is). In some cases, Google may not crawl your site for months. However, your website is constantly changing and being updated over time. It may happen that pages that Google used to know about are no longer there or are pages that are outdated. These are pages you don't want in Google anymore. Over time, Google will eventually realize that your page isn't there anymore or has changed, but this may not happen for a while. What to do? Google's Webpage removal request tool One option that you can try is to help speed up Google's process of learning that this page is no longer available. Google provides a Webpage removal request tool as part of their Google Webmaster Tools. The process is fairly simple. 1. Login to your Google account and then go to the Webpage removal request tool. 2. Select the reason that you want a specific page removed from the Google index and click "Next". 3. Copy and paste the Web page or image url into the text field. 4. Click on "Submit Request". Google will then process the request and remove the page from it's index.
